There are new reports of a massive religious gathering in a Rockland County yellow zone.
In a video given to News 12, thousands of maskless worshipers were seen Sunday at the main synagogue in New Square on Truman Avenue.
Worshipers appear to be violating state health laws requiring social distancing and masks and limiting religious gatherings to no more than 50% capacity.
Rockland County officials tell News 12 the incident is under investigation.
Rockland County Executive Ed Day released the following statement: "We continue to rely on the New York State Police Enforcement Task Force to respond to events of this nature and while we have contributed staff to these efforts we do not direct or control their actions. That said, a gathering of this size and scope is incredibly irresponsible given the significant number of active COVID cases here in Rockland. Our Department of Health continues to urge people to avoid gatherings both large and small."
