About a week into the school year, bus drivers across the Hudson Valley say they're seeing countless drivers pass stopped buses and putting students in danger.

"If they don't respect a stop sign on a street, how are they going to respect a stop sign on a bus?" driver Mike Mullen said, watching cars pass right through a stop sign across from his Eastchester home. "I drive the Bronx River Parkway to get these girls to school. It's like the Grand Prix!" Mullen said. "We drive around, us bus drivers, with bull's-eyes. That's a bull's-eye. That's a big bull's-eye. Nobody wants to be behind a bus."

Neighboring districts are starting to put cameras on buses to slap passersby with a fine. That's something Mullen says he wants to see on his bus.

"It would be perfect. At least these people would get a ticket," Mullen said.

Last spring, Westchester legislators passed a law authorizing the county to work with districts to install cameras. Some of the county's largest districts say cameras will be installed soon.

Mullen doesn't want to see another one of his students nearly hit and is asking drivers to slow down and stop when required.
