Video captured the dramatic rescue of a boy who fell through the ice of a Rockland County lake.

The county honored the volunteers for their heroism for saving the boy.

The video shows two boys out on the ice after chasing a ball out onto Lake Suzanne in Monsey.

One was able to get out on his own without getting hurt - but the other boy had trouble getting out.

"I tried getting up from the ice, and I couldn't. I noticed it kept on breaking. So, I told the kid just hold on another minute or two. But I am going to break the ice so you can get out while EMS came in. I swam back to pick him up and bring him out," says Asher Wieder.

Each of the rescuers received the county's Distinguished Service Award, which is the legislature's highest honor.
