Another victim of the alleged Westchester mortgage fraud scam has come forward Wednesday, claiming that the eight people who had been indicted with the crime ruined his life.
Patrick Sherwood, of Cortlandt, says in 2003 he began having trouble making his mortgage payments. That is when Sherwood says he was approached by Doreen Swenson and Herbert Hall, who convinced him to sign the house over to them in order to avoid foreclosure.
Sherwood eventually lost his home and was forced to declare bankruptcy.
On Tuesday, Swenson, Hall and six others were charged with fraud for allegedly swindling $1.4 million out of four homeowners.
