Hundreds of Verizon employees rallied to demand a fair contract they feel is overdue.
Employees rallied at the Verizon Store on North Central Avenue in Hartsdale. The workers are continuing to fight for a contract nearly three weeks after walking off the job.
Union leaders have been in contract talks with Verizon since last June, but employees said no more after working eight months without a contract.
Union leaders say Verizon wants to freeze pensions, make layoffs easier and rely more on contract workers.
Verizon officials have said the company proposed wage increase and better benefits. They add that a strike benefits no one.
The last Verizon strike was in 2011, and it lasted two weeks.
