There’s a new addition to the Valley Central boys’ varsity football team and her name is Kayla Mainor.
The 17-year-old high school senior joined the tackle team this year for the first time and played flag football for Valley Central last spring.
She’s now hoping to encourage other teenage girls to consider playing football in school.
“Playing has been such a fun and exciting experience for me. My team has been so helpful and welcoming, as well as my coaches and the community,” says Mainor. “I want to encourage everyone and anyone to join any sport or club that they are interested in, even if it means leaving your comfort zone.”
