Utility companies brace for outages as rain drenches the Hudson Valley

Orange County officials are urging drivers to be vigilant out on the wet and slippery roads.

News 12 was in Tuxedo Park Thursday evening as rain drenched the area.
The biggest concern is power outages. Emergency management officials say all three Orange County utility companies have been in touch and were taking the storm very seriously.
They say Orange & Rockland was bringing in 200 more overhead line technicians for mutual aid.
Officials say that in terms of flooding, they were not expecting any problems since some parts of the region have actually been under a "water emergency" for drought concerns.
Orange County officials are urging drivers to be vigilant out on the wet and slippery roads.
Officials say they are keeping an eye on the timing of the storm, expecting not the best conditions for Friday morning's commute and even adding that some schools open for in-person learning moved to remote learning for the day ahead of a wet and cold morning commute.
