The busiest day of deliveries for the U.S. Postal Service is Monday.
Officials say about 30 million packages will arrive on Dec. 21 alone, with millions more appearing on doorsteps throughout the week, just in time for Christmas.
In the Hudson Valley alone, the Postal Service has hired 150 seasonal employees, and mail carriers reported early to handle the added workload.
"We came in at 7:30," says mailman David Werkhoven. "We go out on the road to take care of some of the packages, then come back and get the rest of the mail ready and load up and take whatever is left out."
