Sal's Pizza
in Mamaroneck has been serving up cheesy pies since 1965, but has recently
garnered attention after U.S. Open golf champion Bryson DeChambeau posted a video scarfing down a hot
slice.
Stephen Derose, co-owner of Sal's Pizza, says when
the Winged Foot Golf Club ordered a bunch of pizzas, he didn't know DeChambeau
would be eating the pies but really hoped he would.
DeChambeau gave Sal's Pizza an 8.8 rating, while the
restaurant gave him a solid 10.
The restaurant is known for its famous Sicilian
pizza.
