A state trooper from Poughkeepsie has been accused of obstructing a drug investigation, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.

They say Michael O’Flaherty, 42, lied to federal investigators and told a drug dealer linked to multiple overdose deaths about a convert investigation.

He also allegedly instructed the dealer to destroy evidence.

Authorities say O’Flaherty has been suspended without pay.
