‘Tis the season of giving and receiving — and then returning.
UPS employees say Christmas may be over, but they are just as busy. The National Retail Federation says about one in five holiday gifts are brought back to the store each year.
One UPS store owner says his store does approximately 2,500 to 3,000 returns a week.
"The products don't get wasted. They go back for return, go back to the vendor who can resell them, put them on an auction house. It’s good for them, good for the UPS stores, and we keep the economy rolling,” said Marinus Wolvers.
Consumer experts say to keep your gift receipt and save the original packaging, at least until the refund period expires.
