News 12 got a behind the scenes look at the fireworks display set up for White Plains New Years Eve celebration Tuesday.
The crew with Special FX Wizard, INC from Long Island spent hours Tuesday putting things together on top of a parking garage near the old mall.
We're told there's over 7,000 pyrotechnics and thousands more effects for the 5-minute show.
"We actually have a countdown that will be on the stage with pyrotechnic effects," said Ed Rubio, the president of Special FX Wizard, Inc. "We'll be shooting confetti down there with a blast at the top of the stage and this launching at the same exact time."
It's the companies' third time being part of the city's display that will go off at midnight - if the weather cooperates. We're told city officials will make the call on whether fireworks will or will not go off based on safety.
On Monday, News 12 got a look at the ball that will be lowered from a crane to mark the start of 2025. It has 7,500 LED lights.
As we told you, White Plain's spectacular begins at 10:30 pm tonight near Court and Main streets.
