Ulster County probation officer accused of smuggling cellphone into jail for inmates to use

An Ulster County probation officer is facing charges following inappropriate conduct in the county jail.
Detectives launched an investigation back in August after learning of a possible officer smuggling a cellphone in for inmates to use. They say they determined the phone was provided to an inmate, Christopher Power, 36, from Kingston, on two separate occasions.
The officer as 25-year-old Shawn Teuber.
He was charged with promoting prison contraband in the first degree and the misdemeanor of official misconduct.
He was released and is set to appear in court at a later date.
