An Ulster County man was indicted for murder in connection to the death of a woman whose body was found in a wooded area.
The indictment comes after officers found him threatening to jump off the Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge.
A grand jury indicted 49-year-old Johnny Amaro, of Saugerties, on second-degree murder charges.
Authorities identified the victim as Maria Lemus, who was known to her friends and family as Lucy.
The District Attorney's Office says Amaro killed Lemus on the early morning Sept. 1 on a wooded trail on Eastern Parkway.
The DA also says when police found Amaro on the Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge railing, he told officers where to find Lemus.
Investigators say they found her with stab wounds to her chest and deep cuts on her neck.
