Ulster County has been awarded $20 million to support senior housing initiatives.
The funds, provided by the state as a low-income housing tax credit, will be utilized to establish an affordable and supportive senior center known as the Silver Gardens facility.
Located on Argent Drive in Highlands, the facility will offer 57 one-bedroom apartments for seniors aged 62 and older.
With the funding, 29 apartments will become available to individuals at risk of homelessness.
