Work on the new Tappan Zee bridge is speeding along, but it seems to be slowing down traffic on the old bridge.
Many commuters say they're dealing with rubberneckers every day who can't help but slow down to watch the massive "I Lift New York" crane work with the giant girders.
"It's a lot of traffic - people stopping, looking - it causes accidents. It's bad," says Ali Grant, of South Nyack.
Grant says he now tacks an extra 10 to 15 minutes on his trip to Westchester every morning.
Representatives for the new bridge say people can watch the construction safely from one of the public parks along the Hudson River or on the New New York Bridge webcams.
