Construction of the new Tappan Zee Bridge is going to involve changes to mass transit.
Work on the project is being done by the Mass Transit Task Force, consisting of local and state officials, along with members of the business community from both sides of the river.
During a task force meeting at Dominican College in Orangeburg, the public was given a look at new buses to be used by commuters when the bridge opens in 2018.
A sizeable portion of the bus fleet is expected to be double-deckers traveling between points in Rockland and Westchester.
Right now, the mass transit system being considered is called "Hudson Links," but that could change.
The first phase of the mass transit component is supposed to be ready when the new bridge is finished.
