A homicide investigation is underway in Hempstead after two men were found dead from gunshot wounds inside the basement of a home on Angevine Avenue.
Police said the victims were discovered Wednesday. Both men died from their injuries.
The deaths have left neighbors shaken as investigators work to determine what happened.
The victims have not yet been publicly identified.
A woman who said she knows the victims’ family described the situation as heartbreaking.
“It’s very devastating,” she said. “I’m worried about how the mom is keeping up.”
The area around the home was blocked off as police investigated the scene.
Authorities said no arrests have been made and there are currently no suspects identified in the case.
