A famous jazz musician Turned to Tara after having problems with TSA Global at John F. Kennedy International Airport that lead to him being held for hours at the airport.

The benefit of having TSA Global status is supposed to be quick and easy screening, but two-time Grammy-nominated saxophonist William Evans was told by the TSA in March that someone with the same name and same date of birth is wanted by police.

Due to the issue, the North Salem resident was ordered to sit in a room at JFK for nearly two hours so security could further screen him.

Evans says he normally speeds through customs due to his TSA Global status, but now that he’s been flagged he says he’s been having problems every time he flies.

After someone told him that they didn’t think the problem will get fixed, he followed up with dozens of emails and calls to no avail.

Turn to Tara got in touch with a manager in public affairs who looked into the issue, and later promised it had been resolved.

Evans says he will be traveling overseas in two weeks, so he’s looking forward to see if he has further issues.

Turn to Tara filed a Freedom of Information request with U.S. Customs to see how many other New Yorkers are experiencing similar problems.
