Trial date set for 4 Newburgh terror suspects
A federal judge Thursday set a trial date for the four Newburgh men accused of attempting to blow up local synagogues.
James Cromitie, David Williams, Onta Williams and Laguerre Payan are facing life in prison for allegedly plotting to bomb Jewish temples in the Bronx and shoot down military planes at the Air National Guard Base at Stewart Airport.
Attorneys for the defense say they will be arguing entrapment, since an FBI informant was the one who had allegedly recruited the suspects and sold them fake explosives.
Another status conference is set for Dec. 4. The trial will take place in White Plains beginning June 14.
