A woman is lucky to be alive after a commuter train hit her car on the tracks in Nanuet.
Clarkstown police say the New Jersey Transit train was heading to Spring Valley when it collided with the car yesterday at the New Clarkstown Road crossing.
Police say the vehicle was sitting on the tracks in traffic, when the railroad crossing gates came down and blocked the car.
The train was able to slow down and come to a stop causing minimal damage to both the train and car. The driver was able to get out, and no injuries have been reported.
