News 12 Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Matt Hammer says a storm system over the Hudson Valley will douse the area with rounds of rain.
Some periods will be moderate to heavy, especially overnight. By morning, cold air could switch rain over to a mix/wet snow. The wet weather tapers off late afternoon, winds will remain cold and a blustery.
OVERNIGHT: Cloudy and wet with widespread rounds of moderate to heavy rain at times. Snow and or a wintry mix for areas north like in western Ulster County. 
TODAY: Leftover periods of rain with snow or a wintry mix possible through midday and tapering off around the commute home. Blustery northwest winds 15-30 mph.
TUESDAY: Sun and some clouds with above average highs near 42. Lows near 29.
WEDNESDAY: Mostly cloudy with windy and wet weather developing in the afternoon. Precipitation may start as a wintry mix before changing over the rain. Highs near 38. Lows near 34.
THURSDAY: Cloudy with rain and a chance of wintry mix early in the day. Blustery with highs near 45 and lows near 26.
FRIDAY: Mostly sunny with seasonably cold highs near 36. Lows near 26.
