Officials from the archdiocese held a town hall meeting on Wednesday night to discuss the future of St. Mary's Church in Yonkers.
The church celebrated 175 years in December.
About a month later, the archdiocese said it will cost $10 million for church repairs, leaving them no choice but to close and merge with St. Peter's Church.
Longtime parishioners said they are shocked about the possible closure of the historic landmark and want the chance to figure out a solution.
