A beloved supermarket in Yonkers is closing after 35 years in business.
Top Tomato, located at 420 South Broadway, will shut its doors at the end of the month.
The store sold fresh produce and specialty goods, and many residents say its closure feels like losing part of the community.
"I'm living here 25 years, all the time I come here," said Marta Del Santos, a Yonkers resident. "I was in shock actually when I saw this."
"It's bittersweet. A lot of locals are going to miss us. We are going to miss you, and we thank you," said Lilly Garcia, the store's manager.
The owner has not said why the store is closing, and the future of the storefront remains unknown.
