Today marks five years since a deadly fire in Rockland County claimed the life of a local firefighter.
Jared Lloyd was killed in the blaze in 2021 at the Evergreen nursing home in Spring Valley.
A resident of the facility also died.
Officials say two rabbis using a blowtorch for a religious practice started the fire.
The two eventually received sentences of probation without jail time.
