Milford launched its photo speed enforcement cameras May 25 to encourage safer speeds and reduce the risk of serious crashes.

Police said speeding has dropped 50% in the city since the warning period began.

The cameras will operate 24/7 at select locations, including high-traffic corridors and school zones.

Those locations include:

  • The Academy School Zone, 100 block of Gulf Street.

  • Live Oaks Elementary School Zone, 500 block of Merwin Avenue.

  • West Shore Middle School Zone, 500 block of Milford Point Road.

  • Platt Technical School Zone, 500 block of Orange Avenue.

Cameras have been a hot-button issue in many communities.
