New Jersey experienced heavy rain and storms Sunday that caused flooding in parts of the state. Monday looks much better compared to Sunday evening. Some areas are left with flooding early Monday morning and some tree damage from strong winds.
For your morning commute
News 12 New Jersey's Kimberly Kravitz is in Thunderbolt 12 Monday checking out road conditions. She says as drivers head out, they should be mindful of any debris or fallen trees. As far as traffic, Kravitz says things are moving nicely so far for the Monday early morning commute now that roadways are dry for the most part.
Officials urge drivers to stay cautious on the roads as they work to clear debris and wait for water to recede.
Road closures from the storm
Water has moved fast near the Raritan River. The bridge that goes over the river has closed off from traffic. Water could rise and make for dangerous travel conditions.
