Car collision on State Thruway in Greenburgh injures 2 men

State police said it happened just before 9 p.m. Monday on the northbound side of I-87 near Exit 7A in Greenburgh.

A two-car collision Monday night on the State Thruway in Greenburgh sent two men to the hospital.

State police said it happened near Exit 7A just before 9 p.m. A New Jersey man was traveling northbound when he encountered a vehicle in the right lane.

He tried to brake but could not stop, causing a rear-end collision. The driver of that car, 66-year-old James Aggrey of Ossining, is at Westchester Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

The New Jersey driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

The road was closed for several hours.
