Officials in the Eastchester School District took swift action after a threatening message was posted on social media.
School officials say the post claimed that someone would harm people at district schools, according to a letter sent home to parents.
Officials say the student responsible for making the post was identified and questioned.
Superintendent Alison Villanueva says that following an investigation, it was determined that there is no threat to the schools in the district or to students and staff.
“I would like to reiterate that we take any and all potential threats to the school district seriously no matter how small. Out of an abundance of caution, we make sure to complete a thorough investigation into any reported situations,” Villanueva wrote in the letter.
Extra security will be on hand at the schools on Thursday as an extra precaution.
