Thousands of people pounded the pavement in White Plains Sunday for the 14th annual Autism Speaks Walk. Participants walked the 1.5-mile lap around the wooded New York Presbyterian Westchester Hospital

Thousands walk for autism awareness
Thousands of people pounded the pavement in White Plains Sunday for the 14th annual Autism Speaks Walk.
Participants walked the 1.5-mile lap around the wooded New York Presbyterian Westchester Hospital campus.
All of the money raised will benefit autism research and treatment.
Organizers says that $700,000 has been raised so far.
A big part of the day is also providing services for families with loved ones who have been diagnosed with autism, from guide dog services, to speech therapy and legal aid.
