Thousands of students across the Hudson Valley are learning remotely starting today due to COVID-19.
Virtual learning is underway at Yonkers School 30 after a staff member tested positive. Hybrid Instruction is set to begin again next Monday.
Students and staff at Casimir Pulaski School in Yonkers are also at home after several employees testing positive.
And the entire Mount Vernon School District is closed this week. In a letter to parents, Superintendent Dr. Kenneth R. Hamilton says there are significant staffing shortages since the Thanksgiving recess and the decision to close the district was made in an attempt to get ahead of rising infection rates. He says all students and staff shall revert to remote procedures until Monday, Dec. 14.
