Thousands of people filled the streets of Mamaroneck for one of the biggest summer traditions in Westchester.
Firefighters from all across the tri-state region marched down Mamaroneck Avenue Wednesday night for the annual Mamaroneck Fire Department Parade.
The Mamaroneck Fire Department has been around for 129 years. The village's bravest, more than 200 firefighters, has an all-volunteer force.
For decades, dozens of fire departments from across the Hudson Valley, and even Connecticut and New Jersey, have joined in on the celebration.
There's also something about the parade's history that makes it like no other parade. "The village of Mamaroneck has always been rated number one for the last several years, and the reason is because of the diversity, and this represents the diversity," says Norm Rosenblum, of Mamaroneck.
