News 12 is taking a hard look at rising hate in the Hudson Valley.
Our two-year Turn To Tara investigation, Hate at Home, features an exclusive, in-depth look at a flood of racist and anti-Semitic acts in the area.
In 2017, News 12 launched the unprecedented project in New York to answer the questions that haunted so many -- Is there truly more hate out there, and where is it? Or are we just more sensitive to hate and its consequences?

It turns out that incidents of bias in New York are poorly tracked, and there is no reliable database of hate crimes. So News 12 set out to build one by submitting hundreds of public document requests, combing through thousands of police records and fact-gathering the old fashioned way -- through on-the-ground reporting.
News 12 compiled pictures, social media posts and archival video spanning a decade for the six counties that News 12 covers.
Hate at Home will air all this week, kicking off Monday at 5 p.m. Only on News 12.
