State Sen. James Skoufis (D) is continuing to recover from COVID-19, after announcing he tested positive on Friday.

Skoufis, who represents Orange County and parts of Rockland, started showing symptoms on Tuesday and self-isolated at home until his results came back.

In a statement on Facebook, the senator said he's grateful to be recovering at home but is suffering from a high fever among other symptoms adding, "This virus is no joke - and that's coming from a 32-year-old who is otherwise healthy. Look out for your loved ones and please be safe."

Skoufis says so far, his wife Hillary has tested negative and that they are both grateful for the support from family, friends, the community and their Senate team.
