There are many industries that call New York home, but where exactly can New Yorkers get a job right now?
Caleb Silver, editor in chief at Investopedia, says, "...job growth has been in social services, especially community food and housing relief, we have seen almost ten percent job growth there year over year, special food services that's always growing, elderly assistance and disability care that's up 8.6%, and individual and family service care up almost seven percent year over year."
Silver says wage growth in New York is tracking around the national average which is around 4%. When it comes to which jobs are seeing bigger paychecks, Silver says the strongest sectors are in professional business services, like lawyers and accountants. Those jobs have seen around a 5% wage growth. He says Manufactuing has also seen growth.
And remember the holiday season is upon us. Amazon announced they will be hiring 250,000 full, part-time and seasonal workers.
Target and Khol's also say they are hiring "holiday helpers."
