If you are job hunting these days, and want to know where the money is - News 12's consumer reporter Janice Lieberman finds out which industries are paying the most in our area.
Caleb Silver, of Investopedia, tells Lieberman that hospitality is where the wages are on the rise in New York.
"The greatest growth in the state of New York has been in the leisure and hospitality sector. That's where most jobs are available and that's where small business are looking for workers," Silver says. "We've seen wage grow 11.7% year after year."
Professional business services like lawyers and accountants have also seen a strong wage growth at 3.6%.
However, according to Silver, in the past year in New York there has been a wage decline in the manufacturing sector and IT.
According to Silver, when it comes to the hospitality sector, wages should increase month after month as long as tourism stays strong.
