It's going to be good as we go into your Sunday to make sure you charge up your devices as we go into the evening, just in case we do get into a power outage here. If you have a generator, make sure that's ready to go as well. Here's a look at our Sunday storm notes. So we have downpours here, especially during the evening hours into the overnight gusts will be strongest overnight as well, 30 to 50 miles an hour. But if you see a thunderstorm, wind gusts could be higher than that. And in terms of rain, 1.5 to 3 inches of rain is expected with this. We look at our temperatures right now on our Saturday evening, around 50 degrees everywhere. Here it is quite mild actually out we are at 53 in Elizabeth, 53 in cold snack, 52 down in Asbury Park on the boardwalk here overnight, lows going to be above average forties for much of the state thirties north and west of interstate 287. Some fog will be around. We go into your Sunday here, dry during the morning. So if you want to do anything in the morning outside, you're fine. Then as we get towards mid, these showers come through, they will get heavier and steadier as we go into the afternoon and into the evening. And you see a lot of these bright oranges and reds as we go into our Sunday night here, that is where we could see some thunderstorms. That's where we could see wind gusts, 6065 miles an hour that could create some power outages or wind damage. As we go forward in time. This will get out of here early Monday morning. Little bit of snow possible. Northwest corner of the state during the early part of the morning commute. But otherwise we're dry as we go into your Monday here, rainfall totals won't be that much during the day. But then as we go overnight, we add about another 1 to 2 inches and you end up 1.5 to 3. Here's a look at your wind gusts as you go forward into Sunday night. Again, those gusts 35 to 50 with locally higher gusts. Your 10 day forecast looks like this. We are in a storm watch as we go into your Sunday night to early Monday. Otherwise we're dry for the rest of the week with the exception of possibly a few flurries on Wednesday after the break. Welcome back. We're checking back in with storm watch team, meteorologist, Alex Calamia, Alex. You were actually saying today is going to be a little warmer than the last few days. Yeah, it is 56. We love to see that and we've got the sunshine too at least, are we this morning? But the clouds will thicken a bit. So let's talk about that. Um We definitely are expecting fifties, which is beautiful all afternoon. But then we've got to talk about the elephant in the room which is Sunday in the morning. This time tomorrow we have drizzle, very light winds. Not a big problem. As far as that goes early in the morning, steady rain though develops throughout the later half of the afternoon. Dinner time could be a wash and the evening will also come with really gusty wind that could reach 40 MPH. So, so let's just take a screenshot of this. Just enjoy your Saturday. Enjoy even Sunday morning. We don't have any huge problems. Highs should reach Loga mid F because of that south breeze. Places like Marine Park, Coney Island rockaways. You're all looking a little bit cooler than just a little inland Bushwick in the mid fifties tonight for a little bit of fog. It looks good though. We're dry for dinner time and we're dry even very early Sunday morning. But around this time tomorrow, we will see a few quick little spritzes and that will continue until lunch. So the first half of Sunday is not a total washout, but you should have the umbrella all day. Sunday. The wind is going to pick up and temperatures actually continue to climb after the sun sets. We probably don't hit 60 until 67 o'clock at night, which is just ridiculous. And obviously that does come with some problems because all of that air is literally fueling these storms. Now, we're not necessarily listening to thunder with this, but it will be lots of heavy rain, gusty wind through, I would say about dinner all the way to bedtime and even after midnight, look at some of this wind gust at midnight, we're near 30 to 40 mile per hour. Gusts right along the Atlantic communities there. So she bay could see 40 mile per hour gusts JFK. If you know anybody coming in from a flight that's going to be a problem Sunday evening, Monday morning commute. It is breezy but it is dry so no problems for a Monday morning commute. Latest model guidance showing possibly 2 to 3 inches of rain. I do think some of that's a little over exaggerated. Another model showing still two inches of rain. So definitely rain is the name of the game. We're going to have plenty of it and unfortunately that could cause some localized flooding. It is dry though for the whole work week. Alright.

Hey, Jen. Anytime today looks good. We're really pretty pleasant. Your highs today reach mid ff tomorrow. Upper fifties, definitely temperature is not the problem, but the rain is, we have showers in the morning, nothing huge there, but then a soaking in the afternoon. Here's the timing here. So obviously very quiet. Look at this forties, mid forties, even a few upper forties at seven o'clock. So you wear a jacket, you're good to go. You could leave the heavy jacket, you could leave the gloves at home. It's not gonna be the that kind of chill and the wind is very calm. That could actually bring some fog back into the picture overnight. But aside from that, you are problem free in the weather department for your Saturday evening, Sunday morning. Different story. It's mainly quiet early. But once we hit lunchtime, 287 southward gets in on some soaking rain and the wind isn't a problem at first. But by four o'clock keep in mind it's a sunset time. Now we're talking some really solid heavy rain. 56 o'clock, really solid heavy rain. Eight o'clock still raining. It looks like this is gonna set up over Westchester County right now. But Putnam Rockland, even Dutchess and Orange County are getting in on a pretty decent swath. Your risk is lower in Ulster County, but everybody gets in on at least some really solid heavy rain. Sunday in the evening and early overnight, there are gonna be a few snow flakes Monday morning, most of that north and west of Westchester County, but everybody will have to keep an eye out for the wind on Monday, although the rain won't be a problem. So your flash flood risk as of now for Sunday is slight. So we have a slight risk as a level two out of four risk for flooding two inches possible across a good chunk of the Hudson Valley where you're seeing the red that's locally three. So this is one model and then this next, it's called the her high resolution rapid refresh. This is a high resolution model showing you about two inches of rain for Westchester County, a lower resolution very reliable model, two inches of rain. So we're looking at lots of consistency here, but we're seeing 2 to 3 inches of rain in the lower Hudson Valley. Good news is rest of the work week, no problems.

And the radar is all quiet behind you j but we're already starting to see the clouds roll in. Still pretty nice evening. We're expecting fifties all the way through the rest of it. And then we drop it into the forties when the sun sets pretty good deal for December. But we do have a flood watch and a high wind watch in effect across the island. Now, both of them go in effect for tomorrow. We're expecting 2 to 3 inches of rain. So that's your flood watch. It could bring flooding in the afternoon and in the overnight and gusts up to 45 you see, especially parts of eastern Nassau into Suffolk at the worst and it looks like the timing here gonna be six pm to midnight. That's what I'm looking at for the squall line to pass through and deliver some potential power outages. So let's bring you right to Sunday in the morning time. Not too bad. We have stray showers, not a bad breakfast or lunch, but then right around noonish, we're gonna start seeing some downpours and it's an on and off rain at that point. We're also looking at wind which starts to pick up to the 30 mile per hour range. Now, these are gusts and a gust is a quick little burst of wind as opposed to sustained winds, which is an average kind of wind speed. So we're seeing quick little bursts of 40 MPH that could knock a tree branch down or two around 67 o'clock, the wind is gonna be coming in with some really heavy rain around 1011 at night into midnight one o'clock or so. This latest model is actually keeping the rain around for the early Monday morning commuters and then things clear out by about 78 o'clock in the morning. So a little bit better there. So the worst of the rain gonna be with a flooding risk at 5 to 2 a.m. and then we see wind at its worst right around midnight. Things look good for the rest of the work week though. It's gonna be chilly.

Time. Now for a look at your forecast with meteorologist Joe Martucci. Joe, what's going on? You know, Sunday night will be a good night to hang out with some wine. Stay inside here. We'll take a look at your travel timeline for Sunday into Monday. So Sunday from midday into the evening here, it's often on rain and it's gusty, the worst of it is going to be overnight from 8 p.m. until 2 a.m. and then as we go from two AM to 10 a.m. on Monday, it's rain still blustering. There will be a little bit of snow to talk about as well. I'll show you where in just a minute, here's a look at our satellite and radar this evening across Western Connecticut. Just some clouds around. That's all. But you look to our west and you see this line of rain extending from Toronto all the way down into Mississippi. We've had some tornadoes in the mid south throughout the day here today, from a cold front that will eventually push east and B hours. We'll take a look at our overnight low temperatures generally in the low to mid forties everywhere here with patchy areas of fog, we'll get you to your future cast. So Sunday morning again, dry until about 11 o'clock or so. Then we see some scattered showers and maybe a rumble of thunder moving through the area. This rain will get heavier as we go into the night. Here, you see a lot of these oranges and yellows as we go into your overnight hours. Eventually pushing east. Here comes a little bit of snow you just saw going through Litchfield County could see a few snow showers that could add up to an inch or two, but that would be about all and that would be on colder and grassy surfaces. We are looking for anywhere between an inch and a half to three inches of rain from this gusts are going to be high as well and we'll get you to your 10 day forecast here. It's pretty dry after we get past Monday.

The Real Deal: How to save on Thanksgiving décor for your table  

It's not just the turkey and the trimmings that add up for Thanksgiving dinner. The decor can also be costly. Our consumer reporter, Janice Lieberman has ways to save while you spruce up your table. Remember your Thanksgiving meal is for the entire family, which means you got to keep the kids involved because they get bored so fast. So, how do we do that? We asked Lindsay Pears from the craft studio to tell us your trick. Yeah, I have so many tricks on my sleeve to make sure you get to enjoy after all that hard work. That's right. What you got? Ok. So, first of all, I love a conversation starter tree. Just find branches in your lawn and old floral vase and put something like on the leaves. Like favorite color, favorite childhood hero. Everybody can keep. So we keep the conversation going but the kids get super bored. Let's be honest. And you have something great that they won't get in trouble for. This is, this is so in, I actually think it's really pretty too. You take the chalkboard spray that you can get at a hardware store. It can last forever. You'll have it for more projects. Spray cardboard box flaps, put a cute little piece of chalk with some twine and then they can color and sit at the table longer. Keep them busy. And I love these for your name cards. Think of simple things for your name cards, like boards or pomegranates. Then you, you can reuse them. Now, here you have a pumpkin that your kids wrote all over, but you did not throw it out. I did not. It's a perfectly intact unc carved pumpkin. I took my pumpkin carver. I cut out some holes and I clipped some moms and just placed them in. It's a great centerpiece. Now, when you have some things that the kids can work on while you're eating and they're craft. Yes, let's be real. They'll be done in five seconds. Why not have them? Make a cute little squash turkey with construction paper and glue sticks, nontoxic. So you can still eat your squash or have them do the traditional lally wrapping that we often do ghost for Halloween. But instead make a little turkey twist it with a pipe cleaner. And then my favorite instead of a doggy bag, make a turkey turkey bag. I love it. You are so clever. Happy Thanksgiving. Happy Thanksgiving, Janice and to keep the kids occupied after dinner while you're eating, make them a popcorn, corn husk. They can watch a movie and you can talk in peace.
