As rain fell steadily Tuesday so did the tears of mourners who came out to remember the teen who died while playing in a pool with his family.
Skylar Tancredi, 14, died almost two weeks ago while swimming in his grandparent's pool in Irvington. Family members say Skylar was a victim of shallow water blackout. They say he went under water to show how long he could hold his breath but he never came back up.
Skylar's father told the crowd of mourners at Harvest on the Hudson Restaurant to remember his son and keep his memory alive in their minds. Skylar's parents are now working to raise awareness about shallow water blackout. The Hudson River Swim for Life will be held on September 10 and will be dedicated to Skylar.
