A 19-year-old man says a sexual assault led to the fatal stabbing of a West Nyack man he met on Craigslist.
Dylan Lentini, 19, pleaded not guilty Thursday morning to murder and robbery charges in the Dec. 1 death of Michael Wimbert, 66.
Lentini was seen leaving Wimbert's apartment, where he had been staying for several days before the killing. His lawyers say their client answered an ad for a roommate that was posted on Craigslist by Wimbert.
Lentini then moved in with Wimbert four days before the killing, after living in a New York City homeless shelter.
The lawyers are expected to claim self-defense and contend Lentini was awakened by a sexual assault by Wimbert.
Lentini is being held in the Rockland County Jail without bail. He is due back in court on Jan. 21.
