Teen charged in hate-filled graffiti at 2 Yorktown parks

A 15-year-old has been charged in the hate-filled graffiti that was found at two parks in Yorktown this week.
Police say the town resident has been charged as a juvenile with criminal mischief as a hate crime, criminal mischief and making graffiti.
The graffiti was located Sunday at Patriot Skate Park and Jack DeVito Memorial Park.
It included racial slurs and homophobic and antisemitic graffiti.
Town employees covered up the graffiti, which caused $2,300 in damage.
The defendant appeared in town court with a parent.
He will appear in the Westchester County Probation Department next month.
