At least 100 teachers, aides and staff members rallied in Rye Brook Thursday in the hope of a new contract.
The Southern Westchester BOCES Teachers' Union says it has been working without a contract for four years, and negotiations are now underway to change that.
The union and Southern Westchester BOCES have been in negotiations for years. The teachers association tells News 12 that members haven't had a raise in six years.
"We're passionate about what we do. We need to be recognized for our job and we need to be appreciated. That's what a contract is,” says Melissa Barreto, president of the BOCES Teacher Association.
Members hope that the show of support will put some pressure on the administration.
