Some teachers are the lucky recipients of a very unique scholarship aimed to help bring music into the classroom.
Ten teachers from the Hudson Valley, ranging from elementary to high school, attended educational workshops at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Ohio recently.
Dozens gathered for a celebration to welcome them back home at the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester last night.
One art teacher hopes to incorporate the lessons into her daily teaching. "We had some excellent sample lessons, how to peel back and keep a mystery going with the students, so they could see the power of music and words," says Mary Barresi, of Lakeland High School in Shrub Oak.
The scholarships were donated by The Capitol Theatre.
