A popular high school teacher from Orange County was arrested for allegedly sending sexually charged emails to an underage student.
Dr. Donald Dewitt, who lives in Warwick, was arrested Monday in New Jersey after police say the girl's family found incriminating email messages between her and DeWitt.
Police say Dewitt was also trying to have sex with a 16-year-old female student.
The 65-year-old married man is a teacher at the Bergen County Academies.
Dewitt is facing a number of sex charges, including attempted sexual assault.
He is being held on $300,000 bail at the Bergen County Jail.
