On Sunday night, we're checking in with Alan because we are on storm watch. So, what's this 5050 weekend we got going on because Saturday is all right. Yeah, Saturday is going to be actually picture perfect. You want to enjoy Saturday? That's the outdoor day because it's going to be absolutely beautiful. It's also going to be milder. We're going to see middle fifties. Lots of sunshine go out and enjoy it because we don't get these kinds of days in December, albeit an entire winter pretty often then heading into Sunday. That's when things change big time, the temperatures. I mean, that's the only good part about this is that we will be in the middle sixties actually, but it's going to be quite the stormy finish and we're looking out for the potential of a few even squall lines. Yes, some thunderstorms are looking likely. So let's take a look at when to expect the rain. It's going to be moving in Sunday, especially late morning and early afternoon. Look at how Saturday is pretty much dry day and night may be an isolated shower. But aside from that, it's really going to be into the daytime on Sunday. Right. Lunchtime, we're going to see that rain into Sunday night. That rain will be heavy at times. It will be a windswept rain, continuing into the Monday morning commute and wrapping up around lunchtime. So that by the time we get to Monday evening, things are fine. Let's take a look at the future cast, which is going to pretty much everything is nice and clear all the way through Saturday. Just a few passing clouds here and there. Heading into Sunday though, it'll start off cloudy. This is at 7 a.m. No, no matter where you are across the, you're fine early on into the afternoon, we're going to see all the rain showers moving in. This is at 1230. That's pretty much, yeah, that's it for outdoor activities, those sports games, if you can fit them in earlier or better yet on Saturday, that would be the best time because you could see already some steadier rain moving into Riverdale and then heading into the three o'clock hour across Park Chester City Island and sound view. Some moderate rain is expected. We'll see it on and off. It's not expected to be heavy until we get to about midnight when that squall could potentially move on through. And on top of that wind gust could be approaching 50 MPH, especially for our coastal community. So looking at that 10 day forecast again, it's for that second half of Sunday, first half of Monday that I'm really worried about some potential wind damage, those holiday decorations, either secure them or bring them all in. I mean, at least like half the weekend salvaged you could do a little, even a little bit more than half. Yeah, about two thirds. All right, Alan, thank you. Ahead of your weekend storm watch team. Meteorologist, Jonathan Cuban is here as we get set for some potentially wet weather. Jonathan. Yeah, we do. We got some dry days for today or tomorrow and then as we get into your Saturday afternoon, we can expect some showers which are gonna be potent, could even see a thunderstorm with some strong gusty winds. But for today, temperatures a lot better, closer to average Sunday's rain is gonna bring anywhere from 2 to 3 inches and again, strong gusty damaging winds could potentially be an issue as well as we're gonna watch for some flood flooding. Also. Now, fast forward into your weekend Saturday morning. Not all too bad numbers into the forties. You got some errands to run. You're looking pretty good. We're gonna work with a lot more cloud cover tomorrow than what we're dealing with for today. But temperatures are on the up mid to upper fifties for a lot of folks as you continue to push into your afternoon. Now Saturday night looks good. Numbers still sitting pretty comfortably. As far as those go for this time of year, we're talking numbers into the mid forties, upper forties for some spots as well. We fast forward into your Sunday. Sunny morning looks good. It's gonna be a mild start those numbers in the fifties, but that rain really pulls in by your afternoon. We're talking a little bit of some light showers before we really see a cluster of some thunderstorm pushing in for your mid afternoon, late afternoon and evening. We get a little bit of a break. The worst of it watching right now is your Sunday night into your Monday again, we're looking at some heavy rain, some potential coastal flooding. Certainly with those high tide times pushing into your Monday mornings, that's something we're gonna watch for as well. Uh We could see some flooding alerts from the National Weather Service so you got to stay locked in with us so we can keep you up to date with the latest information that we gather. Heading into the first part of your sunny, that first round of rain. You're looking at about three quarters of an inch late overnight into the early parts of your Monday. You're talking about 2, 2.5, potentially three for some isolated spots and don't forget about the damaging winds again. You got the Christmas lights and decorations up around the house. You may want to make sure they're secured with those gusts pushing closer to 50 heading into the early parts of your Monday morning. We're also going to experience those warmer numbers. We're actually gonna trend colder throughout the day as that strong front pushes in chillier air and we'll see that throughout at least the first half of next week.

We are on storm watch on this Friday for what's coming on Sunday. Matt fill us in. Yeah. So we have some moderate to heavy rain and strong gusty winds still slated for Sunday. The worst, still Sunday evening and it's very early on Monday. So it's a 5050 weekend coming up again. 53 tomorrow is the pick of the week, clouds and breaks of sun, but then Sunday will start off dry in the morning. But rains developing throughout the day, the wind is ramping up and we'll have those gusts exceeding 30 to 40 MPH into the evening and overnight on Sunday. So here's the futurecast. The lighter shades of here really won't be reaching the ground. The timing that I want you to pay attention to is after three o'clock Sunday afternoon. That's when the first showers break out, but it's still kind of just nuisance weather at that point. The higher impact weather, the worst of this storm will be after eight or nine o'clock Sunday evening. That's when the heaviest rain will be around. That's when the chance for ponding will exist into the early part of Monday morning during those overnight hours as that heavy rain comes down for a few hours. Now, colder air will work on the backside of this storm. I'm not too concerned about winter mix and snow, but there can be a few wet snow flakes and higher elevations of Orange Duchess in Ulster County says this kind of rapidly pushes away from us into early on Monday. By the Monday morning, commute, still going to be a little bit gusty outside, still wet and we have the wet leaves around this time of the year. So there can be some slippery conditions from that early on Monday. Here you can see a snapshot of some of those wind gusts Sunday evening around that 40 mile per hour range at times and rainfall totals 1 to 2 inches on average across the Hudson Valley at this point. Some of those finer details will get adjusted over the next couple of days. So make sure you're checking back with us frequently for those important updates. A mix of sun and clouds today. A nice Friday overall smile worthy weather for sure. Highs finally more seasonable in the mid forties overnight tonight, partly cloudy chilly have the heavy cold lows in the thirties tomorrow. Again, a nice day, Sunday showers developing in the afternoon, heavier rain and gustier winds Sunday evening into early on Monday, Monday afternoon, dry breaks of sunshine still breezy. Then the rest of next week looks good with a mix of sun and clouds and high, staying in the forties through next weekend.

Forecast. We're in storm watch. Not for today, not for tomorrow, but Alex says for Sunday. Absolutely. I mean, look at this, this morning, we've had some pretty good sunrises this week. I know Ben, you know what? We've been enjoying them inside where we're not freezing cold. That's the problem on the beach. I know, you know, Mother Nature just has his way of giving us some beautiful sunrises when it's really uncomfortable outside. But let's talk about the jump into the forties that we're expecting by mid morning. It is warmer at 9 a.m. today at 40 than it was at point yesterday. Yesterday, we only hit 39 for a high today. We're expecting 47 Glen Cove Hempstead, Huntington, Smithtown all the way to Riverhead. We are all in the mid forties across the island today. Tonight, we drop into the mid thirties, but we're actually back in the forties by Saturday morning, we're looking really warm on Saturday, but clouds will build very quickly. So expect Saturday to be generally cloudy with just peaks of sun temperatures in the mid f by 10 o'clock in the morning. And we're expecting in those mid fifties all day Saturday. Ok, let's talk Sunday because that is definitely what's on everybody's mind right now. And we have got some showers passing through around noon time on Sunday. You see, winds aren't really too bad at this point, but the rain will be heavy at times. Sunday afternoon, the morning should be mainly dry with just sprinkles. But the middle part of the day, we're already seeing showers and we're expecting another round of rain to come as you had to sleep on Sunday. So you see dinner time, maybe break in the rain. But then 12 o'clock in the morning, now we've got rain and on top of that, some pretty gusty winds. I do think some of the mole guidance is overdo it with some gusts up to 50 MPH. But it is possible. I'm thinking closer to 30 to 40 MPH. That's more than enough to get the Christmas decorations blown across the street. And we also have to worry about how much rain we're going to see. So, through five o'clock on Sunday, it's pretty manageable, about half of an inch at the most toward Nassau County. But look at this plume of heavy rain right now, the GFS Mogg sets it up just to the west of the city, but that red is over three inches of rain. So where the heaviest rain sets up, we're just gonna have to kind of fine tune it as we get a little closer. The European Mole has 1 to 2 across the island. It looks like the farther west you go, the better that heavy rain risk is going to be. But the wind is for everybody. By Monday morning, things are starting to calm down and we're looking cool and dry for next work week. All right. Thank you. All.

Tony. That looks amazing. Everything there looks delicious and, and it's just beautiful to look at as well. What a special place to check out Sunday storm, you might want to head over there instead of being outside on Sunday. So that's a good recommendation too because the weather conditions are going to feature downpours in the evening. So I have three things I want to show you about Sunday's storm and they're going to be freeze frame. So the first one here, the downpours look how widespread it is across the entire state. We're going to see afternoon showers. Now that's not going to be for everyone at the same time, kind of be like on and off. And then bam comes the flooding after seven o'clock, gusty conditions are going to be worse down the shore, you know, east of the Parkway, Monmouth and Ocean County, that's where you're going to see some gusts up to 30 to 50 MPH. That's not too nice. Right. So let's just be aware of that for our holiday decorations that are outside. Now, does that mean that the rest of the state is not going to see the win No, that's not true. Everyone's going to see at least 30 to 40 five mile per hour gusts. But the coast up to 50 that's the only catch there. And last but not least how much rain a widespread two inches of rain is expected with hyper locally, higher amounts. What do I mean by that? There will be some cells that set up and follow each other and will be a little bit heavier than the other cells in the surrounding communities. So we could see upwards of three inches of rain in some select communities. Well, Rizzo, which one, I can't tell you exactly where that's setting up yet, the storm doesn't exist nearby. So we can't really see the progression or the track of where those embedded cells are going to be forming. We'll know Sunday morning and we'll have an idea on Saturday night as well. Here's that forecast showing you across the state Sunday actually starts off pretty quiet. I think this is too early. This is 10 a.m. It shows like an isolated Sprinkle or something, but I, I don't think it's happening until maybe after one o'clock in the afternoon where we're going to start seeing some of the scattered showers and downpours. There could be some unusually dry breaks or unexpectedly dry breaks before that squall comes through by 10 o'clock at night. But that squall is the nasty squall stretching from west to east, exiting the coast by 4 a.m. in the morning.
