Tarrytown Music Hall opened its doors for the first time 140 years ago on Dec. 12, 1885.
It's now listed on the National Register for Historic Places, and it's the oldest theater in Westchester.
"The magical thing about this kind of place, which is basically a living room for the community, is that you think our great grandparents that were in here, they came here for the same reason that people come today," said executive director Bjorn Olsson.
The music hall is full of history. It was the gathering place for basketball games, concerts, horse shows and so much more.
"We've had two presidents speak here. Woodrow Wilson and Theodore Roosevelt both spoke on this stage," said Olsson.
Before the Darlene Love concert ended the night, everyone in the theater sang "Happy Birthday" to honor the music hall.
"I love being here and, it's not just the theater, but the people who work here. It's family," said Howard Ogull.
