All afternoon, workers of Tarrytown Jewelers, a jewelry store in Hartsdale, were seen sweeping up glass and debris following a robbery Monday morning.
Greenburgh police responded just after 11 a.m. to reports of four suspects breaking into the front display window of the store, located at 273 North Central Ave.
The store is known for its stock of high end watches and jewelry.
Police say the suspects stole multiple high-value items.
At his point, it is unknown how much merchandise was actually stolen.
Upon arrival, News 12 saw over five display cases busted open.
Shoppers in the plaza were shocked to hear about the shoplifting.
"It's scary...it's scary. I mean, you could be going in the jewelry store to try and buy jewelry, and they come in there, and they can hurt you, they could hurt anybody in the store," said holiday shopper Levonne.
The four suspects are described as wearing dark clothing, masks and gloves.
They are said to have fled the scene in minutes in a dark-colored SUV.
Anyone with information is urged to call the Greenburgh Police Department.
The owners of Tarrytown Jewelers declined to comment.
