Tanker-truck full of tar turns over in Ulster County; driver suffers minor injuries

Deputies from the Ulster County Sheriff's Office say the 58-year-old operator of the truck was carrying 8,000 gallons of tar when he missed a right-hand turn and struck a culvert.

A tanker-trunk turned over on a residential mile in Ulster on Thursday morning. 
It happened just after 8 a.m. near Old Post Road and Maple Street.
Deputies from the Ulster County Sheriff's Office say the 58-year-old operator of the truck was carrying 8,000 gallons of tar when he missed a right-hand turn and struck a culvert.
The tank capsized as a result.
The driver suffered minor injuries. None of the tar was spilled.
