Today marks a decade since three young Floral Park sisters and five others were killed in a wrong-way crash upstate.
On July 26, 2009, Emma, Alyson and Katie Hance died after a fatal accident on the Taconic State Parkway. Their aunt, Diane Schuler, and her 2-year-old daughter of West Babylon also died in the crash.
Two men in the other vehicle, Guy Bastardi and his father Michael, of Yonkers, were also killed.
The Hances founded the Hance Family Foundation and Beautiful Me program in their daughters' honor. It serves as a way to instill confidence in young girls.
"Their time was important and it meant something," says Warren Hance, the girls' father. "And they continue to change lives every single day."
