The pandemic seems to be impacting how people are celebrating Valentine's Day this year.
According to the National Retail Federation, spending is expected to be down more than $5 billion compared to last year.
And couples seem to be dialing down on gifts. A Lending Tree survey found nearly 40% of Americans plan to skip celebrating to save money this year.
Experts say to save money, try creating something instead of buying. Examples include making a special homemade dinner, writing a poem, or painting something.
