Talk about a close call.

A surfer got a little too close for comfort with a shark in the waters off of Cape Cod.

The frightening moment was captured by a photographer.

Devon Zimmerman described the life-threatening encounter. "I'd only been out in the water a total of two minutes. I thought this little seal was popping up. I turn around, and it was actually the head of the shark and then I saw it's dorsal fin…and utterly froze."

Zimmerman says he's been a surfer his whole life - and this was in first encounter with a great white.
